To be afraid of something is super human. We all know fear, and when we are adults, we can often avoid it for the most part. We can opt out of things that make us feel uncomfortable.

And also we have social media. And we think—maybe even subconsciously—that’s life. That’s how life is supposed to be. Plus can just manifest everything we need. And if it doesn’t manifest, then we have to work on our manifesting skills… because once everything is in place, once everything is how it’s supposed to be, then we’re always going to be happy. And not afraid.

Yep.

And then we see another guitar player playing cool, fast stuff. We don’t know how many takes it took, or how much editing went into the video. It sounds really good, and we want that too… so we google the equipment—maybe the strings, the guitar—and try to play what made us so excited.

And exciting it is… because this is the way. Once we play like this, we’ll be happy. We’ll be in the movie… sort of, right? Only sunshine and good feelings.

And then maybe we have a guitar lesson ? And reality hits. We lose the form. We forget the chords, and we don’t know why. Why is this happening to me? And we feel really bad…

Don’t feel bad. It’s normal. It’s real life. Some things work out, and other things don’t. But we are courageous. We have been leaving the screens and confronting our fears. And that’s so much more important.

And maybe we are completely frustrated with our guitar playing… but we had a reality check (something many people need). And now we know exactly what to work on.

And that simmering feeling of “isn’t something missing in my life?” slowly fades and gets replaced by making music. Playing with actual people. Leaving the smartphone in the car.

So on that note… come and join me next Tuesday. New group lessons are coming up on mai the 5th, and we can play together and talk about all the things guitar.
